Industry requirements are changing rapidly. The type and variety of work being outsourced from global companies to India, has changed over the last decade. Today's business models are different than the decade-old models. Global customers prefer to work with engineering companies & individuals who are serious about engineering along with being capable of offering solutions to the problems rather than entrusting their work to a few services based companies only.

The present situation and the future trend demand that the companies, working professionals and students upgrade their knowledge in the core engineering domain encompassing Tailored Design Concepts, Light-Weight Designs, Repair-Engineering Solutions, Cost Reduction and Value Proposed Solutions etc.

In the future, surface transport and flying vehicles have to be designed for a lighter weight which helps in reducing the emission of CO2, NOx etc. These, environmental and industrial aspects along with the ever-growing expectations of international customers, has increased the gap between ‘Academia and Industry’ to an unimaginable extent.

With this understanding and an intention to create bright engineers for the future, we started the initiative 'a School of Industry Oriented Engineering and Solutions'. The main purpose of our initiative is to make engineering graduates/ professionals understand the width and depth of Mechanical, Aerospace and other allied engineering industries’ requirements; acquire and upgrade core engineering knowledge; Enhance their knowledge on advanced materials.

Ashok Sanmani is a passionate engineer with extensive experience in the aerospace and mechanical engineering domain. He is the initiator of the concept of “a School of Industry Oriented Engineering and Solutions”. Ashok holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Karnataka University, Dharwad. After completing his graduation, he joined HAL and worked there for more than two years on contract basis. Ashok has worked with several premier engineering-services companies including Cades Digitech, TCS, Quest Global Engg. and Tech Mahindra. He was highly instrumental and was a part of the Core-Engineering team during his tenure. He holds an impressive track record and reputation in building successful teams and competencies in all the companies he has worked in.

Ashok has 21+ years of experience in aircraft structures and interiors; along with well-versed knowledge and experience on advanced metallic and composite materials. He has worked on projects/programs such as the Airbus (A380, A400M & A350), Boeing (787 -8 & -9) and Domestic (IJT-36 & SARAS). Ashok has a wide range of expertise ranging from Conceptual Phase of Design to the Certification Phase. He has delivered and managed a plethora of technically complex projects to many Indian aerospace companies and various global aerospace customers. His international work experience comprises of working at Airbus Germany, Magellan Aerospace UK; GKN Aerospace UK and SAAB Sweden.

We believe that only an engineer is capable of mentoring and guiding another engineer. Our team consists of several committed, highly-motivated, experienced and passionate engineers who are highly specialized in their skills and have extensive knowledge of working in different domains. They aspire to deliver to the best of their abilities’. With a combined experience of over 125+ man-years, the team is a unique combination of experienced professionals and young engineers whose capabilities span across Aerospace, Mechanical and Composite domains. This synergy between multi generational workforce has helped us deliver successful programs with high rate of positive feedback from our participants.

Our areas of proficiency comprise of end-to-end capabilities ranging from concept design to certification calculations. Our team has deep knowledge and an extensive expertise in areas such as Aerostructures, Aircraft-Interiors, Design of Mechanical Structures, Heavy Engineering Structures, Structural Design, Finite Element Modelling & Analysis including GFEM Build, DFEM Creation & Validation using different FEM/FEA Packages, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT), Structural Repairs, Tool Design and Expertise on Generic CAD Packages.

Our team has excellent level of knowledge and competency in designing light weight structures utilising both advanced metallic and composite materials. Our composite capabilities include study of different composite materials, stacking sequence formation, validation of guidelines, composite design techniques, composite design considerations, composite material analysis using approved calculation methods & FE Techniques, composite tooling and have a good exposure towards composite manufacturing techniques.

Our value added mentorship programs are a result of a decade of cumulative effort from the core team members from such diverse backgrounds, who have contributed in the form of knowledge sharing, skill development activities and helping young engineers understand the challenges and opportunities available to them in Core Design domain.

The team has come together with sole purpose of delivering fine quality mentorship programs as per international customer standards, considering the future engineering requirements and developments.
